Congratulations to Canada’s own Antun Kovacevic on his outstanding second-place finish in F-Open at the 2026 F-Class Westerns. Antun finished just two points behind Tod Hendricks from the United States, who captured the overall title.
The team events were also a tremendous success for Canada. The Canadian F-Open Team split into two squads, which went on to finish first and second against two other competing teams.

A Truly Unique Shooting Experience
The Westerns were defined by incredibly difficult winds and demanding wind-reading conditions. For many competitors, shooting at Heffley Creek was unlike anything they had experienced before.
The targets are positioned in a valley between two small mountains on approximately a three-degree incline. As a result, the wind flags lower in the valley often failed to represent the conditions higher up the bullet’s flight path. Mirage and flags were frequently misleading, and even the slightest visible change in a flag could result in as much as a three-minute shift on target.
Competitors also experienced significant vertical movement, with bullets being pushed up or down depending on whether the winds were swirling upward or downward through the valley.
Heffley Creek proved to be an unconventional and unpredictable range that thoroughly tested every competitor’s wind-reading abilities. It would not be surprising to see it become a popular destination for top shooters looking to challenge themselves against some of the most difficult conditions in Canadian F-Class competition.
