2026 F-Class World Championships – Day 2
Day 2 of the 2026 F-Class World Championships got underway on August 12th. Day 1 of the individual competition had been cancelled due to a medical issue involving one of the competitors.
The day started at 800 yards with relatively favorable conditions, although there was still enough wind and mirage to catch out plenty of shooters. Of the 210 F-Open competitors, 48 were able to shoot a clean score at 800 yards.
As the day progressed through the 900- and 1,000-yard relays, the heat made shooting increasingly uncomfortable. The mirage and wind were also changing quickly. At times, shooters had only a small window to get their shot away before the conditions changed again. Those who weren’t quick enough could easily find themselves caught by a sudden change and lose valuable points.
The 1,000-yard relay also produced an interesting development. The top three shooters tied with exactly the same score and the same number of V-bulls, meaning a tie-break shoot-off will be needed to determine the podium positions for that relay.
The three-way shoot-off is scheduled for the morning of Friday, August 14th. I’m not sure yet exactly how the tie-break will be conducted, but I do know I’ll be there to watch it—and hopefully get some photos.
